characters of similar attitude
Many different anime characters that Kouga is like can also relate to his situation: the underdog and rival of the main character. I can see alot of resemblence to his personality in the characters below. (As well as looks, possibly)
 INUYASHA; I know this would be an unexpected candidate for alike-ness in personality, but somehow, to me, they seem pretty alike in a sense. Both of them are serious and determined people, and they successfully keep their stronger powers in tact to protect those they love. They share a same sense of arrogance; as in say: it's-my-way-or-the-highway kind of sense. Inuyasha and Kouga both act this way towards everyone they know, and eachother, which is probably why they clash so much. I'd say though, that Inuyasha isn't nearly as cocky or open as Kouga is.
 OTOGI RYUUJI; This one, is, indeed, all about the looks factor. Even though you can't exactly see it, Otogi shares that same high ponytail that Kouga has, as well as the trademark band around the forehead. As for personality, i'd say they share the same cocky attitude towards girls. Other than that, Otogi is just a little too cocky and isn't as arrogant or serious as Kouga.
 MAY WONG; Though she is a girl and looks NOTHING like Kouga, they share alot of the same personality traits. She is a rival to the main character, as Kouga is to Inuyasha. Both have that sort of "i'm better than you and I know it so i'll beat you down" kind of train of thought. May tends to mash down on anyone who she thinks she's better than, and Kouga tends to do the same. Her arrogance is also just about the same as Kouga's.
